Veteran congress leader kentwar Singh.(File Photo)Former External Affairs Minister agency Natwar Singhdied at Gurugram's Medanta Hospital on August 10 following a brief illness. He hailed from the celebrated political dynasty of Punjab, his father having served as Congress party president and chief minister while Singh's own career spanned through over three decades serving in various capacities such as India’s External Affairs Minister (2004-05), Union Minister of State under Rajiv Gandhi. he was also appointed Ambassador to Pakistan between 1980–82. A career diplomat, he took to politics and fell out with the Congress party in 2008 over Volcker report. Singh, another Padma Vibhushan recipient had written a number of books including his autobiography "One Life is Not Enough." Singh, who served as India's Foreign Minister under the Congress Party and later joined BJP in his 50s even started writing literature at that age.
